As a Real Estate Financial Lead, you will play a hands-on role in evaluating commercial real estate opportunities, conducting market research, financial modeling, and investment analysis. You will source deals, assess potential investments, and prepare materials for internal decision-making. This role requires experience in commercial real estate, proficiency in financial modeling, and strong analytical and research skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and enjoys collaborating with teams to close deals.
Requirements
- 1-3 years experience in Commercial Real Estate: Prior exposure to CRE is required. Experience in multifamily apartments is ideal, but backgrounds in hospitality, office, condo, or other CRE sectors are acceptable
- Financial Modeling Proficiency: Strong understanding of key concepts such as discounted cash flow (DCF), pro forma analysis, variance analysis, and return metrics. Ability to navigate and utilize existing models
- Analytical & Research Skills: Ability to evaluate market trends, property data, and financial performance to support investment decisions
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and ensure data accuracy
- Independent Contributor: Comfortable in a hands-on analytical role with no management responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Source Deals: Build relationships with brokers, property owners, and industry contacts to find new investment opportunities
- Analyze Markets: Research local market trends, rents, sales comps, and supply/demand to evaluate potential deals
- Run Financial Models: Use existing Excel models to evaluate cash flows, returns (IRR, equity multiple), and key metrics
- Support Due Diligence: Collect and review property financials, leases, operating statements, and market data to validate assumptions
- Prepare Investment Memos: Create presentations and write-ups to summarize key deal points for the investment committee
- Work with the Team: Coordinate with acquisition, asset management, legal, and finance teams to help move deals forward
- Track Pipeline: Keep detailed records of deals under review, broker contacts, market data, and deal performance
- Assist with Projects: Help with research, strategy updates, and process improvements as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- U.S. Market Familiarity: Knowledge of the U.S. real estate market is a plus but not required
- Real Estate Investment : Knowledge or familiarity in real estate investment industry
- Advanced Financial Modeling Skills: Ability to build models from scratch is beneficial but not mandatory
- Presentation & Reporting Skills: Experience in preparing investment memos and presenting findings to stakeholders
- Tech & Software Proficiency: Familiarity with industry-standard CRE tools and financial analysis software
