Summary
Join Velocity Global as a Regional Finance Senior Associate β EMEA, a fully remote position based in Spain. This role involves managing the daily finance operations within the EMEA region, driving process improvements, and supporting local financial reporting. You will be responsible for month-end close processes, financial reporting deliverables, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant finance qualification (CA/ACCA/CPA preferred), 4+ years of experience, and proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel. Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification in finance such as CA/ACCA/CPA (full qualification preferred)
- 4+ years of accounting/finance experience
- In-depth understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as of intercompany transactions
- In-depth understanding of accounting month close processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Promote effective interaction with all levels of personnel
- Display appropriate ethical knowledge through extraordinary integrity and professional conduct
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the local month-end close processes for relevant assigned entities and maintenance of general ledgers
- Ensure accurate monthly financial reporting deliverables, including P&L analytical reviews, reconciliations, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement
- Responsible for local bookkeeping reconciliation deliverables, ensuring agreement/bridging between NetSuite and local books
- Analyze accounting data to produce financial insights and forecasts
- Oversight and support of daily finance operations within EMEA Region
- Prepare, record, and adjust Journal entries
- Process, research and record invoices, payments, and expenses
- Perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations to guarantee an accurate monthly accounting close process, including the review of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company procedures, and regulations
- Work with local Vendors to help prepare local statutory financial statements and support with local audits for relevant assigned entities
- Work with local Vendors to assist with the preparation and review of Tax filings on a monthly/quarterly basis (including VAT returns)
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc funding requests in collaboration with Treasury department
- Participate in the annual L&P budgeting process
- Identify and assist with process improvements projects across the EMEA region
- Help with special projects based on the needs of the finance department, and other tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Foreign Currency transaction experience preferred
