Summary
Join InDebted's global Finance team as an Accountant! This remote role, primarily working in Australian Eastern Standard Time, involves daily accounting activities supporting the business. You will conduct reconciliations, prepare disbursement files and reports, handle requests and refunds, and assist with month-end closing and audits. The position reports to the Junior Controller and offers growth opportunities. InDebted is a remote-first company with flexible schedules and a trust-based leave model. The ideal candidate possesses strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities
- Conduct daily reconciliation of customer payments (from tracing to system/records, reconciliation on Xero and request to Data Team for posting on the system)
- Prepare disbursement files for the client and submission of payment on respective bank accounts
- Send remittance advice to clients in line with approved disbursement during the week
- Handle requests and refunds from agents, clients and third party agencies
- Assist on the clean up of virtual mailbox, emails and tickets submitted to Finance
- Prepare consolidated revenue report every month-end, raising of client invoices on Xero and sending of invoices to Client once approved
- Chase outstanding AR of clients as deemed necessary
- Record bills received on the Finance inbox and chase approval of the invoices from the different department owners or users
- Prepare summary of due invoices needed to be paid or settled across different InDebted entities and submission on bank for processing/approval
- Ensure that payments under intercompany accounts are properly recorded across different InDebted entities
- Handle the bank reconciliation across all entities (from recording of the transactions to the correct GL account and Business Unit assignment to recharges for all entities in the group and ensuring appropriate tax is applied)
- Prepare cash flow monitoring files across all entities and plotting it on the consolidated file
- Assist the team on monthly closing requirements, compliance audit requests, other analysis and/or other ad-hoc tasks as deemed necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a SaaS or high-growth technology business
- Experience handling big volume of transactions from time to time
- Experience in handling Trust reconciliations (AU, NZ, UK or USA)
- Experience using Xero and DataSights
