Responsibilities

  • Maintaining payroll processing systems and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Verifying the accuracy of payroll data entered and addressing any discrepancies that arise
  • Answering employee questions and troubleshooting issues related to payroll
  • Work with WRA’s outsourced payroll provider, iSolved, to complete weekly and bi-monthly payroll
  • Prepare and Post Journal Entry related to payroll
  • Audit Payroll register to ensure changes were made and payroll is accurate
  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly financial reporting
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reconciliations
  • Process monthly client billing invoices
  • Assist Project Managers with budget reports or other reporting requests
  • Cross train in AP and cash receipts to assist as needed

Job description

We are currently hiring for an entry-level accountant to assist in all aspects of the accounting cycle: including payroll, billing, and reporting. This position will play a key role in monthly reporting and work with many members of WRA outside of the accounting team. This role will be exciting for somebody who is looking to jump start their career in accounting within a values driven professional services firm.

This position may be remote within the states of California, Colorado, Oregon, or Arizona.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Payroll:

  • Maintaining payroll processing systems and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
  • Verifying the accuracy of payroll data entered and addressing any discrepancies that arise.
  • Answering employee questions and troubleshooting issues related to payroll.
  • Work with WRA’s outsourced payroll provider, iSolved, to complete weekly and bi monthly payroll.
  • Prepare and Post Journal Entry related to payroll.
  • Audit Payroll register to ensure changes were made and payroll is accurate.

Financial Reporting:

  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly financial reporting
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reconciliations.

Billing:

  • Process monthly client billing invoices.
  • Assist Project Managers with budget reports or other reporting requests.

Other duties include:

  • Cross train in AP and cash receipts to assist as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

We have posted a salary range that corresponds to the appropriate level for this position. In your first conversation with our recruiter, we will discuss leveling and compensation with you to make sure that our expectations are aligned.

The salary range for this role is $58,000-$70,000.
