Responsibilities

  • Create, assess, update, and communicate a clear product vision and strategy and robust product development processes and practices
  • Evaluate growth options, assess new opportunities, and identify bottlenecks. This includes turning strategy into cross-functional aligned tactics
  • Work with developers and product leaders to understand and remove roadblocks
  • Learn about and understand the priorities and needs of E3’s internal teams, clients, competitors, and the energy consulting market
  • Ensure that the product and executive team have a shared vision of E3’s technical toolkit today, and how it needs to evolve in the future
  • Build and grow exceptional teams by coaching, mentoring, managing and enabling a diverse team of energy experts to develop innovative technical tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technical field
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as code (IaC) using DevOps methodology and versioning and versioning to deliver applications and their supporting infrastructure rapidly and reliably at scale
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and familiarity with time-series data in the energy sector
  • Strong proficiency in backend development languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or C++) and familiarity with high-performance computing or optimization libraries
  • Experience working within cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Job description

At E3, we are developing industry-leading energy analysis tools and products, providing our clients with insights into the future of electricity markets, the economics and implications of the energy transition, and pathways to low-carbon energy futures.

We are hiring an Associate Director of Energy Analytics and Products to manage and direct the development of tools and products that operate at the intersection of energy and economics. As Associate Director of Energy Analytics and Products, you will be managing a cross-functional team of energy economists, data scientists and developers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about modeling energy systems and enabling technical teams to do their best work by creating the conditions for success.

Your strong interpersonal and communications skill, and deep understanding of energy markets and product management best practices will facilitate sound decision-making across all levels of the company. This role will require staying on top of innovations in electric sector planning models to help direct our team towards creative solutions to challenging analytical problems.

As the Associate Director of Energy Analytics and Products, you will ensure that E3’s analytical tools are consistent with the company’s overall objectives and business strategy, directing the development of high-quality, cutting-edge tools that meet our client’s needs. You will work closely with our IT and development team to guide our data processing and cloud infrastructure strategy to support effective and scalable solutions.

You will consult with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize areas for improvement, you will help to create near-term and longer-term strategic goals, prioritize feature development and analyze progress towards those goals.

About the Role

$160,000 - $250,000 a year

Compensation and Title

E3 takes a number of factors into consideration when determining title and salary level for a potential new employee. This includes, but is not limited to: a candidate’s education, training, and relevant work experience; the position’s work location; expected quality and quantity of work; required travel (if any); external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems; and internal pay alignment.​

E3 also provides a bonus structure that we are proud of because we believe it creates the right kinds of incentives for good work, provides significant flexibility, and is fair and equitable. The below compensation outlines our total compensation package with our bonus structure adding between 10 - 20% to your base salary. While neither the upper or lower end of our bonus structure is capped, this provides a representation of the average total compensation based on both your personal performance and the company’s performance. ​

Annual Total Compensation Range for Associate Director to Director:  ​

- Minimum: $160,000

- Maximum: $250,000+
