Join our team as an Associate Director of Energy Analytics and Products to manage and direct the development of tools and products that operate at the intersection of energy and economics.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in software, energy consulting or product management
- 4 years or more of leadership and management experience
- Experience developing and using electric sector planning models, such as production simulation, capacity expansion modeling, and/or energy systems modeling and optimization
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to influence and drive technical decisions at the highest level of the organization, while ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Ability to develop and adhere to budgets and deadlines
- Adept at managing and maintaining relationships between multifunctional team members
- High-level motivational skills for the management of virtual and hybrid teams
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced environment
- A solution-oriented attitude and intellectual curiosity β the ability to ask questions to get to the root-cause of issues
Responsibilities
- Create, assess, update, and communicate a clear product vision and strategy and robust product development processes and practices
- Evaluate growth options, assess new opportunities, and identify bottlenecks. This includes turning strategy into cross-functional aligned tactics
- Work with developers and product leaders to understand and remove roadblocks
- Learn about and understand the priorities and needs of E3βs internal teams, clients, competitors, and the energy consulting market
- Ensure that the product and executive team have a shared vision of E3βs technical toolkit today, and how it needs to evolve in the future
- Build and grow exceptional teams by coaching, mentoring, managing and enabling a diverse team of energy experts to develop innovative technical tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technical field
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as code (IaC)β―using DevOps methodology and versioning and versioning to deliver applications and their supporting infrastructure rapidly and reliably at scale
- Experience with large-scale data processing and familiarity with time-series data in the energy sector
- Strong proficiency in backend development languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or C++) and familiarity with high-performance computing or optimization libraries
- Experience working within cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
