Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of full-time work experience, including experience in consulting, finance, healthcare, and/or high-growth startup environments
  • At least 2 years of experience in a business operations function at a startup/growth stage organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and solve thorny problems in collaboration with cross-functional leaders (clinical, operational, finance, data science, product, etc.)
  • Deep analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making; expertise with Tableau strongly preferred
  • Exceptional leadership presence and ability to drive structured communication at both executive and working levels
  • Strong process development and project management skills, with experience implementing processes that help teams define success and track progress against goals
  • Ability to operate autonomously and ramp quickly across complex business contexts, with proven experience managing through ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Partner with CGO and cross-functional leaders to drive an annual strategic planning process
  • Coordinate planning process with Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to define a cohesive strategic direction in lockstep with annual budget process
  • Develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in partnership with functional leaders and Finance
  • Enable business unit leaders to formulate functional plans, ensuring alignment across all functions
  • Design and execute a company-wide communications cascade, including materials and presentations that drive widespread awareness and adoption of company strategy
  • Develop and implement processes that translate company strategy into practical planning and roadmapping activities
  • Foster ongoing cross-functional alignment, ensuring broad awareness of monthly/quarterly roadmaps and team plans
  • Collaborate with leaders to combine business performance insights with other market intelligence, member research, and feedback to inform monthly and quarterly priorities
  • Define and monitor critical business metrics at multiple levels (e.g. OKRs and functional metrics)
  • Collaborate with company leaders to define key metrics that deliver critical business insights and set associated targets
  • Identify new data sources and work with Data Science and Engineering to ingest that data in a scalable way
  • Partner with functional team leaders to develop dashboards to understand the impact and operations of the business at all levels
  • Partner with Finance to combine a monthly review of financial performance variance to budget and forecast goals with business performance insights
  • Use data analysis to identify risks and opportunities across the business
  • Design and execute processes that enable the right level of discussions for the right audiences, based in data (e.g. revamp live and async forums designed to ensure functional leaders have visibility into leading indicators of topline metrics)
  • Develop materials to communicate key strategic insights at multiple levels, including quarterly Company All Hands OKR reviews and Board of Director meetings
  • Proactively identify business risks and opportunities and support functional leaders in solutioning, including scoping and leading cross-functional projects to drive near-term and long-term improvement
  • Support business case development and prioritization of business-critical product, operational, and/or people-related initiatives
  • Cultivate a culture and practice of continuous improvement across teams

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Business Operations leader to contribute to Brightline’s next phase of growth and impact. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a collaborative team player with an ability to drive data-driven decision making through thoughtful analysis, strategy, and execution. This high-visibility individual contributor role reports to the Senior Director of Strategy and Operations and will work with business leaders across the company to define and execute the BizOps function for the next stage of Brightline’s growth.

  • At Brightline we have built a total rewards philosophy that includes fair, equitable, competitive, geo-based compensation that is performance and potential based. Our strategy is based on robust market research, including external advisory specializing in national compensation, and thoughtful input from every level of our organization. It is a combination of a cash salary, equity, benefits, wellbeing, and opportunity. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for applicants is $110,000-$191,000.
