  • Ability to ensure clean, accurate data by setting up proper event tracking and using product analytics tools effectively
  • Strong skills in interpreting data insights to drive impactful tests and optimizations
  • Experience working with designers to provide feedback and improve user experience , design , and usability while focusing on key performance metrics
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team , building a scalable CRO process and fostering a culture of continuous experimentation
  • Familiarity with direct-response marketing and optimizing landing pages and funnels for high-traffic eCommerce sites
  • Excellent collaboration skills, working closely with design , development , and marketing teams to execute tests efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Build & Scale the CRO Program
  • Develop a high-velocity CRO strategy that allows for running multiple tests simultaneously, focusing on rapid iteration and consistent learning
  • Manage a backlog of experiments and work closely with the CEO and COO to prioritize high-impact tests that can drive significant improvements in conversion rates and AOV
  • Establish and optimize processes to ensure tests are implemented consistently and efficiently, scaling experimentation over time
  • Test Velocity & Experimentation
  • Lead A/B testing , multivariate testing , and split testing across the site, identifying areas for optimization and managing the full testing lifecycle
  • Ensure rapid deployment of tests from ideation to execution, working with design and development teams to launch experiments quickly and without friction
  • Prioritize and manage tests based on impact potential , ensuring a focus on improving key metrics like conversion rate , revenue per visitor (RPV) , and AOV
  • Data-Driven Optimization
  • Use heatmaps , user recordings , Google Analytics , and other CRO tools to deeply understand user behavior and identify friction points
  • Make data-driven decisions , building a testing program backed by clean, reliable data to ensure test results can be trusted and leveraged for actionable insights
  • Work closely with data analysts to track and analyze test results, continuously refining the approach based on outcomes
  • Funnel & Landing Page Optimization
  • Optimize the full customer funnel—from landing pages to checkout—reducing drop-offs and improving conversion rates
  • Collaborate with the UX team to align tests with user behavior insights , ensuring the best possible experience for customers
  • Work closely with marketing to ensure landing pages are optimized for traffic sources and variations that can increase both AOV and conversion
  • Collaboration & Leadership
  • Act as the CRO lead , working cross-functionally with design , development , marketing , and other teams to ensure tests are well-executed and aligned with business goals
  • Improve the design and development process by removing bottlenecks and ensuring quick turnaround times for test implementation
  • Mentor and lead the CRO function , laying the groundwork for a growing experimentation team and a scalable optimization program
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Regularly report on CRO KPIs including conversion rates, AOV, and revenue per visitor (RPV)
  • Continuously refine the testing strategy based on results and make data-driven recommendations for future improvements

Job description

We’re Freebird, a fast-growing, direct-response men’s grooming brand, and we’re on a mission to take our testing and optimization to the next level. We’re looking for a Director of CRO to take full ownership of our testing roadmap, manage our backlog, and develop a scalable system for experimentation that drives significant improvements in our website KPIs.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our CEO and COO to prioritize high-impact tests and lead a fast-paced experimentation process. With the support of our talented designer and developer, you’ll drive rapid test implementation and help build a world-class CRO team over time. Your focus will be on improving the user experience and driving measurable growth in conversion rates, AOV, and overall website performance.

Responsibilities
