Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with identified international agents
  • Understand and assess agent needs, collecting feedback about what product offers would make Aston programmes more attractive to students (and agents)
  • Negotiate initial commission terms with international agents that would be competitive and incentivise them to prioritise Aston Online
  • Engage our OES’ Director of Commercial Development for the development of appropriate standard contracts for international agent (propose that this would be interim contracts)
  • Provide compelling information to international agents about Aston university, the benefits of online study for international students and Aston Online programmes
  • Make it as easy as possible for international agents/students to navigate systems and enrol students in Aston Online as will influence agent likelihood to recommend Aston Online
  • Prepare compelling information for prospective international students about the Aston Online proposition
  • For any prospective students identified by international agents act as the dedicated liaison for these students until they are fully enrolled in an Aston programme
  • Establish new processes to embed the international agent network as a key recruitment channel, ultimately to be managed by the Student Recruitment team
  • Capture learnings and develop repeatable processes which could be applied for other OES partners

In 2024, we have launched a strategic partnership with Aston University who are a transformational UK university and we are now looking for talented, ambitious individuals to grow our team. You will be joining OES at an exciting time with significant opportunities for professional growth, creativity, and impact.

The International Officer role is a short-term position we require to establish an interface between international agents and the Student Recruitment team, establishing processes and then ultimately phasing role out and handing responsibilities to the Student Recruitment team.

This role will work closely with Aston recruitment team as well as international agents which we expect to be located globally.

We are open to discussing either a 3-6 month fixed term contract or working as a contractor for this position. We are open to this being a completely remote role.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with identified international agents. Note that a group of initial agents will have been identified and early conversations had, role does not include any cold out-reach

  • Understand and assess agent needs, collecting feedback about what product offers would make Aston programmes more attractive to students (and agents) eg around fees, payment options, delivery modes. Provide insights to Aston Marketing manager to inform programme design

  • Negotiate initial commission terms with international agents that would be competitive and incentivise them to prioritise Aston Online, including ease and turn-around time on commission payments as will be a factor in agents promoting Aston Online to prospective students

  • Engage our OES’ Director of Commercial Development for the development of appropriate standard contracts for international agent (propose that this would be interim contracts

  • Provide compelling information to international agents about Aston university, the benefits of online study for international students and Aston Online programmes

  • Make it as easy as possible for international agents/students to navigate systems and enrol students in Aston Online as will influence agent likelihood to recommend Aston Online

  • Prepare compelling information for prospective international students about the Aston Online proposition

  • For any prospective students identified by international agents act as the dedicated liaison for these students until they are fully enrolled in an Aston programme

Essential skills:

  • Must have prior experience working with international education agents

  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal communication)

  • Excellent at building relationships with people

  • Experience of administrative duties and project management

  • Has a consultative approach and is able to understand different audiences and adapt communication style to build relationships.

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (Pro rata)
