Requirements

  • Experience managing business registration in the US
  • Experience with NetSuite and TriNet
  • Understanding of SaaS business models
  • Startup experience preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with financial reporting, month-end/year-end close processes, and regulatory reporting
  • Administrative skills proficiency and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing insurance brokers is a plus
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, and payroll for UK and US teams
  • Direct the preparation and publication of monthly financial statements. Oversee regulatory reporting
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Guide preparation of month-end accounts and year-end audit file
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data for accurate financial reports. Supervise audit material preparation and audits
  • Collaborate with external auditors for compliance and successful audit results
  • Enhance financial systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP or IFRS
  • Manage filing of US reports, including 1099 forms and sales tax
  • Handle sales-related legal documents, including W9s, vendor forms, DPAs, and vendor information forms
  • Support creation, review, and management of legal documents like agreements and contracts
  • Manage relationships with insurance brokers, assess services and premiums, and handle insurance queries and renewals
  • Manage payroll, ensure accuracy, set up commissions, and make necessary adjustments
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including entering data into HR systems, gathering and uploading all necessary employment documentation, and setting up employee benefits such as health insurance
  • Maintain and update employee records to ensure they comply with company policies
  • Track employee holiday allowances and handle compliance-related documentation such as I-9 forms

Senior Accountant - Remote - $60k USD base + $10k USD variable (uncapped) + equity

SAM Labs is expanding its finance team to support the next stage of growth. Join us to scale the team, develop processes and insights, and help achieve revenue targets. This position offers strong development opportunities as SAM Labs realizes its revenue growth.

The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, directing close processes, and enhancing financial systems. This role includes legal- and insurance-related responsibilities as well as HR support activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance, legal, and insurance:

  • Day-to-day Oversight: Lead daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, and payroll for UK and US teams.
  • Financial Statements: Direct the preparation and publication of monthly financial statements. Oversee regulatory reporting.

You have:
