Summary

Join our team at Reactivate and contribute to the development of community solar and small utility-scale solar energy projects throughout the United States. As a Senior Development Manager, you will lead land acquisition efforts, oversee permitting processes, and manage relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field (a Master’s degree is a plus)
  • 7+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on permitting, land acquisition, and regulatory compliance
  • Deep understanding of land use regulations, environmental permitting processes, and zoning laws
  • Proven experience negotiating land leases, easements, and purchase agreements
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with landowners, government officials, and community stakeholders
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, including NEPA, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other relevant laws
  • Ability to travel as required for site visits, landowner meetings, and engagement with regulatory agencies

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of land acquisition for renewable energy projects including site identification, landowner negotiations, and securing land agreements (leases, easements and purchase agreements, etc.)
  • Oversee all permitting processes for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Develop and manage relationships with landowners, community stakeholders and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals
  • Coordinate with legal, environmental, and technical teams to ensure that all necessary studies, surveys, and documentation are completed to support permitting and land acquisition efforts
  • Monitor and manage timelines for permitting and land acquisition to meet project deadlines
  • Engage with local governments, public officials, and community groups to address concerns, communicate project benefits, and ensure community buy-in
  • Stay up to date on regulatory and policy changes that impact land acquisition and permitting for renewable energy projects
  • Manage third-party consultants, attorneys, and vendors involved in the permitting and land acquisition processes
  • Assist in developing project budgets and forecasts related to land acquisition and permitting costs
  • Provide strategic input on new market opportunities and site development strategies to support the company’s growth
