Summary

Join HubSpot's expanding revenue team as a Revenue Manager! In this role, you will work with IT to automate revenue recognition, implement a new Revenue Recognition system ensuring ASC 606 compliance, review contracts for proper revenue treatment, and partner with other teams to understand the impact of company initiatives. You will also design and standardize month-end close processes, serve as a subject matter expert on revenue accounting, and collaborate with business partners. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally a combination of public accounting firm and revenue accounting in the SaaS Tech industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

Responsibilities

  • Work with key IT contacts to maximize automation of revenue recognition and serve as a key participant in the implementation of a new Revenue Recognition system
  • Support the implementation of a new Revenue Recognition system by reviewing test case and UAT output to ensure ASC 606 compliance and identifying issues and prescribing corrective actions
  • Review nonroutine contracts in partnership with Deal Desk and Legal to ensure proper revenue treatment under ASC 606
  • Partner with our Financial Operations and Technical Accounting teams to understand the potential impact of company-wide initiatives or new offerings on revenue recognition, help determine relevant solutions, and draft relevant accounting memos as needed
  • Help design and standardize month-end close processes while proactively finding ways to shorten close timelines and drive efficiency
  • Serve as a subject matter expert around Revenue Accounting in resolving revenue accounting, process, and sales related issues that arise on a day-to-day basis related to the Companyโ€™s products, pricing, and non-routine revenue transactions
  • Collaborate and coordinate with business partners to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, and implement policies and best practices
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and disclosures prepared by senior accountants impacting HubSpot Revenue
  • Play a key role in coordination between Revenue Accounting and internal & external audit teams and ensure compliance of key accounting controls for Sarbanes Oxley purposes

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA
  • Aptitude/RevStream experience
  • Revenue Recognition implementation experience
  • Big picture mindset to understand the impact of technical accounting decisions on the organization
  • Willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong oral and written skills and the ability to communicate with senior leaders

  • Cash compensation range: 103800-166100 USD Annually
  • In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpotโ€™s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs)
