Summary
Join Newsela as the Manager of Sales Development and lead the growth of our sales team by coaching and developing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). Reporting to the Sr. Director, you will design and implement lead generation strategies, continuously improve team performance, and exceed territory goals. This role is crucial for Newsela's mission of bringing meaningful classroom learning to every student. You will contribute to transforming teaching and learning, lead a front-line team initiating partnerships with K-12 schools, and directly drive business growth. You will collaborate across the Customer organization and leverage sales tools like Salesforce and Salesloft. This position offers a base salary of $80,000, on-target commission of $40,000, and includes incentive stock options and benefits.
Requirements
- Bring 4+ years of sales experience or 2+ years of sales management and a proven track record of coaching others
- Have direct experience of hitting goals, and holding yourself and coaching others to be accountable to success metrics
- Have a strong ability to develop and execute lead generation strategies across your team
- Have a strong ability to identify and develop talent
- Be proficient in Salesforce and other sales tools, enabling you to manage and support a remote team effectively, and have experience coaching using platforms such as Gong or Salesloft
- Excel at inter-departmental collaboration and understand the value of partnering across teams to achieve company goals
- Be passionate about education and share an appreciation for Newselaβs mission of transforming learning experiences for students and teachers alike
Responsibilities
- Lead the growth of the sales team by coaching and developing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs)
- Design and implement lead generation strategies that drive success in strategic conversations with District and School Administrators
- Continuously improve team performance and exceed territory goals
- Coach, train, and manage a team of SDRs to achieve quarterly and annual metrics
- Partner with sales leaders across the Customer organization to align on strategies and goals
- Develop and implement lead generation strategies that resonate with District and School Administrators
- Continuously monitor and improve territory performance and identify opportunities for growth and optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance inter-departmental processes and execute on company-wide goals
- Leverage sales tools and platforms, such as Salesforce and Salesloft to manage team performance and workflows effectively
Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000
- On-target commission (OTC): $40,000
