Summary

Join Astronomer as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and be the first point of contact for prospective customers, generating sales pipeline. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales development, business development, or a similar outbound sales role (preferably in B2B SaaS or tech)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and goal-oriented—excited by the challenge of outbound prospecting
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts in a way that resonates with different audiences
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment

Responsibilities

  • Prospect & Outreach – Identify, research, and engage potential customers through outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn
  • Qualify Leads – Convert inbound and outbound leads into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) by assessing needs, budget, and intent
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing – Work closely with the marketing team to refine MQL to SQL conversion strategies and ensure a steady flow of high-quality leads
  • Leverage Sales Tools – Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and automation tools to track engagement and optimize outreach efforts
  • Learn & Grow – Stay up to date on industry trends, customer pain points, and Astronomer.io’s value proposition to effectively communicate with prospects
  • Hit & Exceed KPIs – Meet and exceed monthly pipeline goals, including outreach volume, meetings set, and conversion rates

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot), sales automation platforms, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
