Summary

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for qualifying leads at the initial stages in the sales funnel. This role involves researching potential clients, connecting with and educating prospects, and qualifying leads before handing them off to the appropriate sales team. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of software/SaaS sales or related market/business experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, high-level self-motivation, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of software/SaaS sales or related market/business experience

Responsibilities

  • Proactively pursue and qualify sales leads via telesales and email marketing
  • Conduct a needs assessment, determine client requirements and expectations in order to pass qualified sales opportunities onto the sales team
  • Generate and vet leads based on sales and marketing-determined criteria and pass in a timely fashion to the sales team
  • Effectively communicate with sales team and schedule calls, webinars, and appointments with qualified leads for them
  • Strategize with top-producing sales leaders
  • Create target prospects lists and penetrate key accounts
  • Cold call into prospects generated by a variety of outside sources, 40-50 touches per day
  • Identify key players, researching and obtaining business requirements, and presenting solutions to begin the sales cycle
