Join a growing, innovation-focused team in the high-performance textile industry as a Sales Director β Protective Fabrics. This remote, U.S.-based, full-time position requires significant domestic travel (up to 70%). You will lead and grow sales efforts, managing key accounts and identifying new business opportunities in the protective fabrics market (PPE, military, industrial, and public safety). Success requires a strong technical understanding of protective textiles and a proven track record in B2B sales. The role involves developing strategic sales plans, managing customer relationships, collaborating with internal teams, and delivering product presentations. You will also monitor market trends, provide sales forecasts, and represent the company at industry events.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Textile Engineering, or related field (MBA is a plus)
- Minimum 10 years of B2B sales experience, with 5β8 years specifically in protective fabrics or technical textiles
- Deep understanding of flame-resistant, cut-resistant, or performance textiles and their end-use applications
- Proven ability to manage national accounts and close complex, high-value deals
- Self-motivated and results-driven with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 70%
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share and meet revenue targets in the protective fabric segment
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships while identifying and closing new opportunities across target industries
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, and operations teams to align solutions with customer needs
- Deliver product presentations, lead negotiations, and manage complex sales cycles with OEMs, distributors, and government contractors
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts and reporting to leadership
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling to government/military, industrial safety, or law enforcement customers
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., NFPA, ASTM, ISO)
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce) and data-driven sales strategy experience
