Senior Accountant

Summary

Join Cents, a rapidly growing SaaS company revolutionizing the laundry industry, as a Senior Accountant. You will oversee the back-office accounting operations for our Canadian arm, managing the monthly close process, accounts payable and receivable, and cash posting. This role requires expertise in Canadian taxes, including payroll and GST/HST, and experience with year-end audits. The ideal candidate possesses strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping
• Proficiency in accounting software, Xero and SalesForce a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with payroll processing and tax filings
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Experience with vendor payments and customer collections a must

Responsibilities

• Manage and own full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
• Maintain general ledger, reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts monthly, and prepare journal entries
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax reporting and payroll filings
• Assist with audits, tax preparations, and year-end closing
• Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in SaaS and manufacturing
• Knowledge of ERP systems and financial analytics tools
• Experience with GST/HST and tax filings
• Experience with payroll tax preparation and reporting
