Summary

Join Customer.io as a Senior Accountant and work alongside the Senior Controller and CFO to manage and maintain the company's financial records and reporting. You will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and reviewing monthly financial results, the annual operating budget, and rolling forecasts. This position involves leading the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance, improving processes, supporting audits, and implementing new systems. Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial activities such as reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
  • Communicate financial results to senior management and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks
  • Streamline accounting processes and leverage technology to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance productivity and scalability
  • Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Prepare audit schedules, provide requested documentation, and address audit findings in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments to implement new procurement, payroll and subscription billing tools
  • Providing documentation and training for company personnel on new processes and procedures
