Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot tables
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset reconciliations, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
  • Review journal entries for accuracy and completeness, including adjustments and accruals
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff on various tasks
  • Step in to perform accounting duties across different functions as needed
  • Assist in training and developing junior team members
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and legal regulations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Generate reports, as needed, to address specific business questions or strategic initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations
  • Work closely with other departments to resolve financial issues and support business operations
  • Collaborate with the finance team leadership on budgeting and forecasting activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting
  • Familiarity with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks
  • Background in a fast-paced industry like e-commerce or digital marketing
  • Start-up experience
