Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelorβs degree in accounting or finance or foreign degree equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP
- Business fluency in German and English
- Knowledge and experience with German GAAP and IFRS required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Highly developed attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Mentor and train staff accountant
- Maintain the general ledger
- Assist with researching and resolving accounts receivable issues, including determining collectability concerns
- Process and record payroll on a timely basis
- Ensure timely recording and payment of vendor payables and liabilities
- Prepare accurate month-end and quarter-end financial close activities and reconciliations within the required deadlines ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP, and that internal policies and procedures are followed
- Assist in the preparation and tie out of financial statements and other financial documents and reports
- Prepare standard operating procedures instructions
- Assist in identifying risks and process gaps and developing and implementing solutions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in accounting practices
- Assist with audit fieldwork, quarterly VAT filings and cross functional teams by answering accounting-related data requests and questions
- Ad hoc projects as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the corporate accounting function of a public company desired
