Summary

Join eyeo's accounting team as a Group Senior Accountant, playing a key role in group and German accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. You will prepare financial statements, review intercompany transactions, manage the global chart of accounts, and liaise with auditors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a foreign degree equivalent
  • CPA or equivalent, Bilanzbuchhalter or Internationaler Bilanzbuchhalter
  • At least 5 years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Knowledge and experience with German GAAP and IFRS required
  • Business fluency in German and English
  • Hands-on experience with ERP required, NetSuite or Oracle preferred
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are a must
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong disposition for problem-solving are a must

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely standalone and group financial statements in accordance with the HGB and IFRS on a monthly basis
  • Work with country accounting team members to review intercompany transactions monthly and swiftly resolve intercompany out-of-balance issues
  • Review foreign currency translation system setup and FX effect monthly
  • Assist the Senior Accounting Manager or Corporate Controller in preparing quarterly investor financial reporting packages, i.e., financial statements, balance sheet briefings, and flux and trend commentaries
  • Partner with country accounting team members and manage the global chart of accounts and financial statements mapping
  • Liaise with auditors to complete annual financial reporting and audit requirements in a timely manner
  • Assist the Senior Accounting Manager or Corporate Controller in developing policies and processes to allow for complete and accurate accounting records and support timely close and reporting
  • Lead compliance with local statutory reporting requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
  • Provide support to Corporate Controller with special inquiries, projects, and ad-hoc analysis; for German entities, play a lead role in managing financial audits
  • Collaborate with Tax, Financial Planning and Analysis, Investor Relations, and other teams; ensure that accurate accounting data is provided in a timely manner
  • Provide insightful business requirements to the ERP project team; actively involved in system implementation and improvement
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in working with global teams in a technology company is preferred
