Senior Accountant

Summary

Join Peerspace's remote-first finance team as a Senior Accountant, reporting to the Controller. This crucial role involves managing financial operations and contributing to company growth. You will be responsible for the monthly close process, accounts payable, sales tax compliance, and collaborating with auditors. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 4+ years of experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 4+ years of accounting experience, with emphasis on month-end close processes
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, macros)
• Experience with accounting software platforms
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Materially contribute to the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed financial analysis
• Manage accounts payable operations through Bill.com and employee expenses through Expensify; manage external relationship with AP provider
• Drive sales tax compliance using Avalara
• Partner with external auditors during annual audits
• Design and implement accounting processes and internal controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• NetSuite experience
• Bill.com and Expensify administration
• Avalara sales tax software experience
• Experience in tech or marketplace companies
• CPA license or active candidate
