Summary

Join PicnicHealth, a leading AI-powered clinical research company, as a Senior Accountant. Support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. Collaborate with a dedicated team to drive key accounting processes, lead automation initiatives using AI tools, and support the company's first audit. Contribute to scaling finance operations and work closely with the Controller. This role requires a strong accounting background, preferably in life sciences or clinical research, and a hands-on approach. You will play a critical role in the company's financial success and growth.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 842, internal controls, and financial reporting standards
  • Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or nationally recognized accounting firm and CPA
  • Experience in tech, healthtech, clinical research, pharmaceutical, or life sciences
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Support the financial close process and the preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Ensuring consolidated financial statements are in accordance with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements and company policies
  • Partnering with controller in developing, implementing, and maintaining the internal systems and financial controls for scalable growth with a focus on AI tools
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
  • Managing general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and revenue recognition
  • Supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Partnering with FP&A and operational teams to ensure alignment between financial results and project performance
  • Supporting financial statement audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting the controller with tax filings, compliance, and liaise with external accountants or consultants as necessary
  • Providing training and mentorship to accounting team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Netsuite, MS Office and/or Google Suite
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Drive to build scalable systems and workflows leveraging AI to increase operational efficiency
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Target Base Salary Range: $85K -$115K
  • Weโ€™re a remote first company, with teammates spread across the US
  • We support in-person gatherings, including co-working spaces and multi-day onsites, to build connections and move forward strategic initiatives
  • Expect to travel 2-4 times a year
  • For our team members in the Bay Area, who prefer to work in person we can offer a hybrid set up to work from the SF office on a flexible schedule
