Senior Accountant

Summary

Join Samsara as a Senior GL Accountant and contribute to the company's mission of digitizing large sectors of the global economy. As a key member of the team, you will assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, improve timeliness and accuracy of financial closing and reporting, and perform account reconciliations. You will also prepare and analyze monthly intercompany reconciliations, investigate and resolve reconciling items, and provide insights and explanations for variances in financial performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting/finance
• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Combined Big 4 and tech industry experience is a plus
• Excellent analytical, technical and auditing skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes of our foreign entities, in particular our new entity in India
• Improve timeliness and accuracy of financial closing and reporting for International entities
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of balances
• Prepare and analyze monthly intercompany reconciliations between subsidiaries
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Provide insights and explanations for variances in financial performance
• Assist in cross-functional initiatives and communicate progress effectively
• Support the external audit process
• Implement changes to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
• Must be a fast learner, multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude
• Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of operational accounting processes
• Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
• Experience with NetSuite and intermediate Excel skills strongly preferred
