Senior Accountant

Summary

Join Vacasa as a Senior Accountant II and support the Compensation & Equity team, focusing on compensation-related transactions. You will need strong accounting principles knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and analytical abilities. Responsibilities include monthly close processes, variance analysis, reconciliations, and audit assistance. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in fluent English required
• Expertise with ERP/General ledger software systems, preparing/posting journal entries, and developing/maintaining reconciliations
• Advanced Excel experience (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
• Ability to manage numerous assignments, identify priorities, and problem-solve
• Highly motivated and analytical, with the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented, with a sense of urgency and relentless follow through
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong business partnerships
• Proficiency with Google apps for business
• Adherence to company policies
• Reliable internet connection, must meet a minimum of 50 mbps
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related subject
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process through journal entry preparation
• Complete variance analysis post-close and prepare commentary to explain period-over-period changes
• Perform complex reconciliations for general ledger accounts
• Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of income and expenses
• Assist in interim and annual audits
• Contribute to continued process development and improvement for existing and new accounting systems and procedures
• Ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned
