Senior Accountant

Summary

Join ZigZag's team as a Senior Accountant! Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, analyze financial statements, and reconcile balance sheet accounts. You will need experience with computerized ledger systems (preferably Xero and MYOB), BAS and Australian Taxation experience, advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical abilities. Prior accounting firm experience is beneficial. This work-from-home role involves bookkeeping tasks as needed and may start in January or February 2025.

Requirements

• Experience with computerized ledger systems – preferably Xero and MYOB
• With experience is BAS and Australian Taxation
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Analyse financial statements for discrepancies and other issues
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Understanding of the accounting cycle and how all elements affect the financial movement of the entity
• This role should be open to do bookkeeping work if required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounting firm would be greatly beneficial
• Ability to pick up processes quickly
