Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot tables
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset reconciliations, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Review journal entries for accuracy and completeness, including adjustments and accruals
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff on various tasks
- Step in to perform accounting duties across different functions as needed
- Assist in training and developing junior team members
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and legal regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Generate reports, as needed, to address specific business questions or strategic initiatives
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations
- Work closely with other departments to resolve financial issues and support business operations
- Collaborate with the finance team leadership on budgeting and forecasting activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting
- Familiarity with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks
- Background in a fast-paced industry like e-commerce or digital marketing
