Summary
Join Development Seed's finance and administration team as a Senior Accountant and Financial Analyst. Collaborate with the Head of Finance and Revenue Accounting & Operations Lead to perform global accounting transactions, financial analysis, establish finance processes, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in improving accounting and finance practices as the organization expands. This role involves overseeing expense-related activities, performing financial analysis, closing the books monthly, preparing account analysis, and producing financial statements. You will contribute to process improvement and find solutions to accounting strategy and management challenges. The ideal candidate is highly organized, flexible, process-oriented, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and values teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
- Specialized studies in accounting, finance, or related fields
- 3+ years of intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and experience in accounting
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience using financial and team collaboration/management software (ie Quickbooks, ERPβs, bank feeds, treasury management, G-Suite, GitHub, Slack, Hubspot, etc)
Responsibilities
- Oversee all expense-related activities at the organization
- Perform financial analysis
- Close the books monthly
- Prepare account analysis
- Produce financial statements
- Contribute to better defining our processes and find solutions to accounting strategy and management challenges
- Financial analysis and reporting - accounting with our Lisbon subsidiary including consolidation, financial analysis, monthly financial reports, and cash forecasting
- Expense support β hands-on management of accounts payable, bank feeds and reconciliations, merchant card activity, cost control and expense monitoring
- Policy and Process - perform accounting, finance, and operations policy and process updates and improvements. Integral role in implementing a new accounting and time recording system
- Operational support β perform operational tasks in support of the team that may include travel oversight and financial proposal preparation
Preferred Qualifications
- DCAA and/or government accounting knowledge and experience
- Experience with international accounting and consolidating books
- Experience implementing accounting systems
- Experience working in small fast moving teams and decentralized management structures
- Experience coordinating across multiple time zones
Benefits
The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $125,000 commensurate with experience
