Requirements
- Live in the United States
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Have 4-6 years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience preferably in a similar non-profit, marketplace businesses, and or transactional (one-time) revenue streams of $30 million or greater
- Have experience using financial systems to prepare and manage budgets and forecasts, including the ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive financial projection model
- Have experience with financial planning and reporting software
- Have experience with analytics and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
- Possess a strong understanding of US GAAP; ability to communicate differences in GAAP and cash financials
- Possess strong analytical/modeling skills and experience executing budgeting and strategic planning processes for complex financial reporting organizations
- Demonstrate Excel fluency and superior financial modeling, quantitative, and analytical skills with comfort creating scalable models as well as proficiency in PowerPoint/Google Slides
- Execute financial analysis with a high standard of precision and accuracy
- Display a deep understanding of technical concepts and industry trends
- Exhibit leadership qualities by guiding and mentoring junior team members
- Make well-informed decisions based on experience and data analysis
- Think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data and demonstrate strong stewardship of confidential and/or sensitive information
- Ensure effective performance when faced with ambiguity, changing environments, and demands
- Evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results
- Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals. Include the capacity to both think strategically and execute tactically, embodying a blend of technical, creative, business, and communication skills
- Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day planning and analysis activities
- Develop and implement processes and tools that will deliver optimum operations of the department
- Serve as a valued business partner to Executive and Senior Management leaders by providing financial management support
- Prepare and present plans (budgets/forecasts)
- Conduct regular management reporting and analysis of actual results
- Align business analytics with the organization’s strategic objectives
- Ensure areas operate efficiently and effectively within Common App financial policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent certification
- Have grant and/or government contracting financial modeling and reporting experience
- Have experience with Workday Adaptive
- Ability to influence at all levels, as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategies
- Be effective in a variety of presentation settings (one-on-one, small, and large groups) and with peers and management team members
- Encourage innovation and be able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective, efficient, and creative solutions
