As an APD Accounting team member, you will be involved in accounting for various product lines, preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. You will also assist in research, respond to internal and external inquiries, support month-end close processes, analyze business results, and assist with audits and state filings. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with experience in accounting and insurance. Requirements

  • Accounting degree, or equivalent, and 5 years of experience required
  • Candidate must be a team player
  • Candidate must have excellent computer software skills and must be especially knowledgeable regarding Excel
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork: most possess strong working knowledge of computer systems
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills

Responsibilities

  • Calculate month end journal entries and book associated month-end journals for APD Programs
  • Calculate, reconcile, and book accruals
  • Analyze any monthly variances
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations
  • Complete year end reporting as needed
  • Work closely with the auditors to provide requested information and answer questions
  • Assist in State Filings and Reporting to various departments of insurance and revenue
  • Analyze daily/monthly data feeds between NetSuite vs other systems (Sales, cancels and claims), communicate to IT and various team members to resolve any differences. Consult with Manager regarding any delays
  • Analyzes and solves problems and assists others in troubleshooting and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

Prior working knowledge of insurance/reinsurance and accounting preferred
