Summary
Join a dynamic marketing agency and become their Senior Content Marketing Manager. This role blends strategy, execution, and leadership, focusing on creating high-impact, SEO-driven content for 18+ clients. You will develop and execute content marketing strategies, conduct keyword research, audit existing content, and manage content workflows. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of experience in content marketing and SEO, strong knowledge of SEO tools, and excellent editorial skills. This is a full-time, remote position offering a competitive salary and additional perks.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in content marketing, SEO-driven content strategy, or a related role
- Deep knowledge of keyword research and SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Keyword Planner
- Strong grasp of on-page SEO, content hierarchy, and search intent analysis
- Experience managing content workflows in Asana, Notion, and Google Docs
- A keen editorial eye—you can spot (and fix) weak structure, confusing messaging, or SEO misfires
- Ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball
- Familiarity with AI-driven content tools (ChatGPT, ClearScope, etc.) and how to use them effectively
- A data-driven mindset—if the content isn’t performing, you want to know why and fix it
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute content marketing strategies that actually drive results
- Conduct deep-dive keyword research to find high-impact opportunities across the funnel (TOFU, MOFU, BOFU)
- Stay ahead of evolving SEO best practices (think: topic authority, content clustering, and pillar pages)
- Audit existing content to spot gaps, optimize underperforming pages, and identify growth opportunities
- Create detailed content briefs that help writers produce A+ content the first time around
- Oversee a high volume of content across different industries—from IT to pest control (yes, really)
- Manage content workflows using Asana, Notion, and Google Docs to keep things moving smoothly
- Review, edit, and polish content to ensure it’s clear, engaging, and aligned with search intent
- Assign writers based on expertise, ensuring the right content lands with the right people
- Improve and maintain SOPs for content production, keyword research, and task management
- Optimize our use of custom GPT models for smarter, faster content generation
- Identify and implement new tools & tech to make our content marketing engine run even smoother
- Reduce bottlenecks by streamlining workflows and delegating effectively
- Work closely with the SEO team to align content with broader growth objectives
- Manage and mentor freelancers, in-house writers, and editors to maintain quality and consistency
- Train junior team members in SEO best practices, content structuring, and topic research
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B and B2C content marketing (especially for home and professional services)
- A track record of successfully implementing content clustering and topic authority strategies
- Experience leading freelance content teams and managing workflows at scale
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) to make content not just rank—but convert
