Summary
Join Experian's high-growth Employer Services division as a Sr. Contracts Counsel! Negotiate complex agreements with clients, ensuring compliance and coordinating with various teams. You will enforce contracting policies, advise management, and provide training. This role requires a JD, bar admission, and 4+ years of relevant experience in contract negotiation and drafting. Experience with Salesforce and familiarity with privacy laws are preferred. Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school; bar admission in any state
- 4+ years of experience, ideally in-house or in a contracts department
- Comfortable working in a large, sales-driven environment with business, technical teams, and executive leadership
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, including leading client negotiations
- Direct experience negotiating key contract terms: Liability, Indemnification, Warranties, Termination, Data Security
- Familiar with aligning contract terms to revenue recognition and accounting rules for software and custom development projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (complex spreadsheets), PowerPoint, DocuSign, and Adobe (PDFs, Adobe Sign)
Responsibilities
- Negotiate creative solutions that meet Experian's and client's needs while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
- Coordinate with partners across legal, compliance, finance, sales, and product teams to complete transactions
- Enforce contracting policies and manage approvals for non-standard terms and pricing
- Assist sales teams with ongoing contract administration and advise management on risks
- Provide training to sales and other departments on contract issues and negotiation strategies
- Facilitate deal execution while minimizing risk to Experian
Preferred Qualifications
- Have direct experience creating contract records in Salesforce, Salesforce reporting, and document approvals and deviations within Salesforce
- Have familiarity with state and federal privacy laws, including the FCRA, GDPR, CCPA, and HIPPA
- CIPP certification
