Summary

Join Canva's creative team and help redefine how the world experiences design. This remote contract copywriter position offers flexibility to work from anywhere in the specified country. You will collaborate with art directors to create impactful messaging for various high-visibility projects, developing unique marketing ideas and translating complex concepts into engaging language. The role involves crafting content for brand campaigns, landing pages, emails, and tutorials. Canva values a collaborative and dynamic work environment. Requirements

  • Have at least 8 years of experience as a copywriter, either agency or client side (in-house)
  • Have an understanding of brand marketing channels and advertising best practices
  • Have a passion for innovative, blue sky ideation and a strong desire to make impactful work that will help to build an iconic global brand
  • Be a team player. Able to work in a dynamic multi-skilled agile environment
  • Be a master storyteller, able to sell the brand and its products to myriad demographics and personas with a consistent tone of voice
  • Have attention to detail, style and tone. Write with clarity and empathy, and can write in a range of genres, styles and tones
  • Have a good grasp of English, sentence construction, and grammatical structure. And because less than 50% of our community is English speaking, consider the needs of internationalisation in every word
  • Bring others along for the ride. Set expectations with stakeholders, communicate openly across multiple teams, and collaborate with multiple creatives to get the job done
  • Be not precious. Open to giving and receiving feedback and can clearly articulate how copy can be improved

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Art Directors to develop ideas and execute messaging that is consistent, effective, and accessible across Canva’s multi-channel campaigns
  • Translate big, complex ideas into clear, user-friendly messaging that aligns with Canva’s mission and vision
  • Write, review, and edit flawless, on-brand copy across channels, ensuring each asset enhances user engagement
  • Create a playbook of high-quality content for a range of initiatives, from brand campaigns to standalone assets, working closely with designers, strategists, and producers
  • Collaborate with the Creative Copy Lead to keep messaging on-brand and aligned with Canva’s evolving strategic direction
  • Balance creativity, simplicity, and playfulness to create engaging, compelling copy that’s easy to digest and impactful
