Summary

Join Whalar Group, a global Creator company, as a Senior Manager, Finance for their Umi Games division. This remote position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong financial expertise to lead month-end close processes, assist in budgeting and forecasting, oversee billing, and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, billing, reporting, and operational finance, along with experience working with NetSuite and strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA a plus)
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with exposure to FP&A, billing, reporting, and operational finance
  • Experience working with NetSuite
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to partner with and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive mindset with a drive to improve processes and solve problems

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Support internal and external audit preparation
  • Assist in annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range planning processes
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to drive profitability and cost efficiency
  • Partner with department leaders to support departmental budget management and scenario planning
  • Oversee billing processes in coordination with the Controller and operations teams
  • Monitor AR and AP activities, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and strengthen internal controls
  • Support working capital management and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage migration of financial programs and procedures, such as moving from Quickbooks to NetSuite
  • Help maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Assist with documentation and implementation of finance policies and procedures
  • Provide financial guidance to cross-functional teams on new initiatives, vendor negotiations, and investment decisions
  • Translate financial data into actionable business insights for senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a plus
