Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting, Business, Finance, Management, or a related discipline is required
- 5-7+ years of direct experience in business accounting or finance
- 3+ years project management and leadership experience
- Experience in mentoring, providing technical assistance, and advisory support to others
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment
Responsibilities
- Manage professional-level accounting functions and the preparation of reports including earnings, profits/losses, cash balances, and cost accounting. May assign and review and/or approve the work of other staff members
- May supervise staff who perform a variety of routine tasks, including reconciling bank accounts, posting to and balancing ledgers, processing payroll, preparing draft invoices, budget transfers, tracking and reporting on expenditures, and assisting in the maintenance of accounting records, and other related tasks
- Oversee financial data analysis and routine report development for agency-wide and program-level financial operations
- Coordinate development and/or recommend modifications of program-related financial policies, guidelines, standard operating procedures, and checklists for local and federally funded programs
- Provide attention to detail regarding financial and technical aspects of program management including review of program forms, financial documents, payment requests, service provider invoices, progress reports, contract amendments, etc
- Serve as liaison between the company, external client, vendors, and/or other stakeholders as necessary
- Assist with problem-solving, including identification of potential issues and proposing solutions to the client
- Review and interpret government publications and regulations as they pertain to sound financial management practices, and grant management, as applicable
- Interact effectively with governmental clients, contractors, and staff members in meetings and through written memos, e-mails, formal letters, video conferencing, and telephone conversations
- Provide QA/QC for timesheets, financial draw requests and/or routine milestone and expenditure reporting
- Anticipate demands and assist with, recommend, or direct realignment priorities as needed
- Update and maintain program budget and status tracking and document filing systems, including working in multiple systems
Preferred Qualifications
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
- 5+ years project and leadership experience
- Experience with PeopleSoft
- Experience with Uniform Administrative Guidance and experience overseeing federal grant programs ant the state or local level is preferred
