Summary
Join Mercury's Financial Partnerships team as a leader, managing a team of individual contributors and managers. You will be responsible for coaching and developing the team, building out Mercury's network of potential partners, and working with various internal teams. The role requires strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills within a complex fintech ecosystem. You will manage relationships with bank partners and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. This position demands expertise in networking, partner evaluation, and strategy development. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the fintech landscape and the ability to navigate complex systems.
Requirements
- Have 8+ years of relevant banking/fintech experience and 3+ years of management experience
- Be a strong people leader who enjoys growing individuals and teams
- Be an excellent communicator both internally and externally and a highly organized project manager
- Consistently exercise empathy
- Have a strong product sense
- Be an excellent negotiator
- Be technically inclined or comfortable enough with technical concepts to interface between technical teams inside and outside of Mercury

- Be able to simplify complex systems and problems into manageable steps
- Have a BA/BS or something you feel is equivalent
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of product partner and payment partner relationship managers
- Be the driving force behind building Mercuryโs network of partner relationships
- Sell the impact and value of being a partner to Mercury, while negotiating the best returns/outcomes for Mercury
- Be the internal expert on the fintech partner ecosystem and build our knowledge base on how this system works
- Work closely with Legal and Finance to negotiate new contracts with our partners and help manage revenue
- Manage new partner selection and ecosystem expansion
- Unblock internal teams wherever possible and advocate for Mercuryโs roadmap to drive efficiency for internal teams
- Clearly communicate the compliance, regulatory, and technical products of Mercury accurately in order to liaison between product teams and win over external partners
