Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required)
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in Big 4 audit and leadership roles in a SaaS or technology environment
  • Expertise in ASC 606
  • Deep knowledge of NetSuite ARM
  • Significant experience improving revenue accounting processes
  • Prior experience growing a remote Accounts Receivable team
  • Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves and getting into the details
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process for revenue and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review financial close journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, and fluctuation explanations
  • Oversee the application of ASC 606 principles to all revenue streams and ensure compliance
  • Present revenue-related information to executives in a clear and actionable manner
  • Partner extensively with Technical Revenue, Accounts Receivable, FP&A, GL Accounting, Product Management, Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, Enterprise Systems, Data Engineering, Legal, Professional Services, and Sales teams to align on revenue objectives and strategies
  • Evaluate new product introductions or upstream process changes for impacts on revenue accounting processes and activities
  • Proactively identify opportunities for both large and small process improvements, propose solutions, and drive implementation
  • Enhance the companyโ€™s NetSuite ARM (Advanced Revenue Management) implementation to increase automation, reporting capabilities, and efficiency
  • Design, implement, and perform controls related to revenue
  • Manage and develop a global workforce, fostering collaboration across multiple regions and time zones
  • Hire, mentor, and develop the Revenue Accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and promote professional growth within the team
  • Collaborate on the revenue forecast process in partnership with FP&A, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports, providing insights and recommendations to executive leadership
