Summary

Join Mixbook as a Senior Manager, People Operations and act as a senior HR generalist, owning various HR initiatives aligned with the company's objectives. Execute performance management processes, provide guidance on HR matters and labor law compliance, and collaborate with other departments. Oversee pay structure updates, act as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, and contribute to HR policy development. Facilitate leaves of absence and utilize HR metrics to inform decision-making. Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of broad People Operations (HR) experience in various positions, with at least 2 years of experience in coaching people managers or employee relations work. Proven experience building strong, trusting relationships with managers and employees is a must
  • Experience within startups or technology-driven companies that have experienced growth and organizational change. Experience in small to medium-sized organizations (50 - 500 employees) is ideal
  • Functional expertise in a range of People Operations areas, including employee relations, performance management, culture and engagement, compensation administration, benefits administration, and the selection/administration of people operations technology solutions and vendors
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, working rapidly on pressing issues while remaining focused on future outcomes
  • Ability to communicate with impact and adapt the approach to written and verbal communications to match audience needs
  • Knowledge of People Operations software and integrations. Experience bringing automation to manual processes will be necessary for this position
  • Strong business acumen and ability to enable the business through the People Operations practices, processes, and structure
  • Experience in a remote work environment

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Endlessly champion the four disciplines of organizational health with persistence and courage. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the organization's people managers
  • People Strategy Implementation: Implement HR strategies aligned with Mixbook's mission and growth objectives
  • Employee Experience: Champion an inclusive and empowering work environment for all Mixbookers. Lead and continuously improve the employee lifecycle experience, including onboarding, offboarding, and reorgs. Key Success Measures include eNPS, overall Employee Engagement, and Annual Turnover <20%
  • Performance Management: Execute the operational aspects of effective performance management processes, including annual reviews. Provide coaching and support to people managers while encouraging year-round real-time feedback, clear performance expectations setting, and role clarity
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to employees and people managers, providing guidance on HR matters, labor law compliance, and conflict resolution. Escalate to the VP, People Operations as necessary
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted partner for talent acquisition, delivering a seamless handoff at the time of hire and integrating insights from the interview process into an effective onboarding process for each new hire. Collaborate effectively with IT Operations and Finance/Accounting for onboarding/off-boarding and employee data needs
  • Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the updating of Mixbook’s pay structure and makes appropriate compensation recommendations for new roles. Acts as the primary POC for employee questions related to benefits and annual open enrollment
  • Compliance: Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements. Ensure all employees complete required compliance training. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and best practices in the U.S. and Moldova
  • Leave Administration: Facilitate leaves of absence in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws
  • Data-Driven People Insights: Utilize HR metrics and data analysis to inform decision-making and continuously improve HR programs and policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification(s)
  • Current PHRca certification or prior work experience with a California employer
  • A solid networking / participation of fellow HR professionals
  • Experience in organizations that have international team members
