Summary

Join Vonage's Legal Department as a Commercial Senior Paralegal, supporting the Application Business Unit. You will play a key role in managing complex commercial contracts, collaborating with sales teams, and improving contracting processes. This position requires strong legal expertise, experience in technology or SaaS, and the ability to work cross-functionally. You will advise internal teams, standardize contract templates, and enhance contract management workflows. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Paralegal experience working at a law firm or commercial legal department ideally in technology, SaaS or cloud communications
  • In-house experience working cross-functionally to drive projects and transactions to completion
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure in a sales-driven, revenue generation environment, providing prompt, accurate responses and work product
  • Proven track record in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks to offer business solutions
  • Business-oriented mindset with strong acumen, problem-solving and project management skills
  • Diplomatic and gravitas to drive consensus and results
  • Proactive, self-motivated and track record of challenging and improving on the status quo
  • Strong team player with sound, practical, and independent judgment; committed to the highest ethical standards
  • Skilled in prioritizing and organizing work in a high-volume, results-driven environment
  • Familiar with how to leverage technology and tooling (such as Jira and Slack) to drive efficiencies and amplify impact
  • Experienced supporting a fast-paced sales team and complex cross-border agreements

Responsibilities

  • Review, create and manage commercial contracts with customers, partners, and resellers to protect company interests and ensure legal compliance
  • Process contracts, including MSA Addenda, renewals, and quotes, through the compliance platform, ensuring accurate ticketing and follow-up
  • Assist sales teams on deal closure and indirect sales
  • Support continuous improvement in simplifying processes for contract negotiations, operational processes and the provision of legal support
  • Collaborate with Vonage customers to understand and address their needs
  • Advise internal teams and senior leaders on solutions to support company growth
  • Collaborate with legal operations to standardize contract templates, processes and procedures globally to enable cross-selling of services
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve contract management workflows and propose enhancements to our Contract Lifecycle Management system
  • Create processes and frameworks for effective legal knowledge sharing to facilitate our department’s provision of legal advice across the business
  • Identify and recommend solutions to improve efficiency in legal operations
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for core legal operations processes
  • Develop training content for new processes and ensure knowledge is accessible via internal platforms such as Thrive and Confluence
  • Support the adoption of new tools and technologies by conducting training sessions and troubleshooting user issues
  • Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives as assigned by Legal Operations leadership
  • Track and manage key legal operations deadlines and deliverables to ensure timely execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and other business units, to align on operational priorities and implement and optimize platforms and various tools, such as JIRA, Evisort and SimpleLegal
