The ideal candidate possesses 3-5+ years of experience in payment operations, ideally within e-commerce or a PSP, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and experience in frontier markets, preferably Africa. Requirements

• 3 - 5+ years in a Payment Operations role - ideally within an e-commerce company, a payment service provider (PSP)
• You obsess over data and actively engage and own payment performance
• Strong analytical / problem-solving skills across technical platforms and large datasets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with a range of people
• Experience working in frontier markets with a preference for countries in Africa

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day monitoring and operations of payments for both the Carry1st Shop and our Pay1st gateway API integrations with B2B clients
• Identify payment issues, liabilities and risks proactively then resolve as our first line of defence
• Make tactical changes to payment configurations to optimise for payment success
• Represent the PayOps function to the rest of the business through reporting on issues and trends
• Actively contribute to the Gateway Squad - a cross-functional team of product, engineering, customer support, growth, data and more that looks after Carry1st’s payments infrastructure
