Summary

Join Canva's International Marketing team in Mexico as a Social Media Manager on a 12-month contract. This role involves leading the creation and execution of the Mexico social media calendar, crafting engaging content, and acting as a brand champion. You will be responsible for localizing global campaigns, engaging with the community, staying ahead of trends, and partnering with local teams. This position requires deep expertise in social media content strategy, execution, and community engagement, along with experience using tools like Sprout Social, Monday.com, Google Analytics, Looker, and Canva.

Requirements

  • You have deep expertise in social media content strategy, execution, and community engagement
  • You’re confident using tools like Sprout Social, Monday.com, Google Analytics, Looker—and of course, Canva
  • You’re a creative thinker with hands-on experience crafting brand content across platforms, including video editing
  • You’re naturally plugged into social media culture—understanding what’s trending, what resonates, and what drives conversation
  • You’re analytical and curious, always looking to better understand your audience and optimise for impact
  • You’re a compelling communicator—whether it’s writing, designing, or speaking—and thrive when juggling multiple priorities
  • You know how to tailor content to each platform and get the most out of each one
  • You’re collaborative and relationship-driven, working well with both internal teams and external partners
  • You can zoom out to see the big picture, while also diving in to deliver day-to-day needs
  • You’re proactive and adaptable—ready to pivot, problem-solve, and push things forward in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Leading the creation and execution of our Mexico social media calendar, ensuring it aligns with key marketing priorities and local moments
  • Crafting thumb-stopping content—from copy to visuals and video—that brings our brand to life across platforms using Canva
  • Dreaming up bold, creative ideas that position Canva as a design thought leader in the market
  • Acting as a brand champion, ensuring every piece of content reflects Canva’s tone, values, and voice
  • Collaborating with the global social team to localise campaigns that resonate culturally and drive connection
  • Engaging daily with our community—responding, reacting, and making our channels a place people want to be
  • Staying ahead of trends, tapping into cultural moments, and keeping an eye on competitors to shape our local strategy
  • Partnering closely with local teams to keep aligned on business goals and opportunities
  • Translating global assets and messaging to ensure they’re meaningful and impactful for the Mexican market
  • Owning community engagement on local channels—driving conversation and fostering connection
