Social Media Producer

Summary

Blavity Inc. is seeking a part-time Social Media Producer to support daily content development for an environmental initiative. The role involves creating and distributing social media content, partnering with senior leadership, and collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate has experience in content production, video editing, analytics, and design, and a passion for Black culture and news.

Requirements

• B.A. in Journalism or related field
• 2+ yrs of content creation production experience
• Strong knowledge of video editing for social platforms
• Experience with analytics and listening tools
• A demonstrated ability to write engaging social media copy across a range of topics, and for a variety of audiences

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership on content initiatives, social strategy, operations, and research/analysis
• Own end-to-end production of daily content and programming
• Build effective relationships with colleagues throughout the Blavity organization to support synergy across company’s Owned & Operated brands
• Collaborate with the Audience Development and Data Analytics teams to maximize story and post reach and ensure the brand is meeting site-wide growth goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of design elements and principles
• 2+ yrs of content development for Gen Z and Millennial demographics

Benefits

This is a part-time, contract position with an hourly rate of $25 - $30/hr depending on experience
