Remote Social Media Producer

Summary

Join our team as a part-time Social Media Producer to support daily content development and programming for environmental content. The ideal candidate has strong skills in social copywriting, organization, photo editing, and a passion for Black culture and news.

Requirements

• Education: B.A. in Journalism or related field
• Required Experience: 2+ yrs of content creation production experience
• Strong knowledge of video editing for social platforms
• Experience with analytics and listening tools
• A demonstrated ability to write engaging social media copy across a range of topics, and for a variety of audiences

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership on content initiatives, social strategy, operations, and research/analysis
• Own end-to-end production of daily content and programming
• Build effective relationships with colleagues throughout the Blavity organization to support synergy across company’s Owned & Operated brands
• Collaborate with the Audience Development and Data Analytics teams to maximize story and post reach and ensure the brand is meeting site-wide growth goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of design elements and principles — You understand the systems of graphic design in order to create work that is both aesthetically pleasing and effective
• 2+ yrs of content development for Gen Z and Millennial demographics
