Remote Solution Architect

Summary

Join our team at Tempus as a Solution Architect to build and launch collaborations with academic and foundation partners in precision medicine, utilizing data science techniques to unique cancer datasets.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, computer science, or related field, or 3+ years experience working with genomic and clinical data
• Experience working with statistical modeling, data mining and/or machine learning methods
• Proficiency in R, python and/or other programming languages
• Experience with software development and the AWS or GCP technical stack
• Experience with engineering practices for research computing (Docker, Git, Github, code review, Linux, cloud computing, etc)
• Strong project management and post-sales skills: understanding and qualifying customer requirements, supporting customers in making progress against a roadmap, aligning scientific results with business outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design a potential retrospective study with primary investigators and their teams on a whiteboard
• Provide trusted technical advice for our partners and clients in a boardroom setting
• Help customers use the Lens platform to apply cutting-edge data science techniques to unique cancer datasets
• Work closely with the Delivery Operations and Alliance Management teams to get datasets into customers' hands

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with standard bioinformatics pipelines
• Familiarity with the academic research landscape in oncology
• Experience putting data science workflows into production
• External outreach or education (consulting, giving talks, teaching, open source contributions)
• Experience with SQL or other query languages
