Join Highspot's rapidly growing Accounting team as a Senior Accountant to optimize operational accounting processes and support cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- 4+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience
- Fluency in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting with the ability to research and document accounting issues and findings
- Technical accounting experience in preparing memos and technical accounting conclusions, with preferred experience in leases, capitalized software, and accrual accounting
- Ability to perform analytical assessments of the balance sheet and profit and loss schedule, including presenting results to leadership
- Exposure to or direct experience with a monthly accounting close process
- Experience in NetSuite and FloQast is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience with internal controls (design, implementation, and execution)
- Demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and delivering results
- Ability to understand, evaluate, and develop end-to-end processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and accounting policies
- Work across technical topics such as leases, capitalized software, accruals, etc
- Collaborate with managers to perform accounting period-end close activities including posting/reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics
- Partner with international accounting team members to support both international and domestic compliance requirements
- Research and prepare technical accounting documentation as needed
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation for areas of responsibility
- Innovate and collaborate for continuous process improvement, advising and leading others in implementing ideas to enhance existing systems, internal controls, and work processes impacting financial close and reporting
- Partner with teams such as IT Applications, Finance, Tax and Legal to determine and operationalize the accounting implications of new business initiatives and transactions
