Staff Designer

Join QuillBot, an AI-powered writing platform, as a Lead Designer for our new editor! You will lead the design of a complex writing tool from concept to launch, ensuring a refined user experience. You'll be responsible for shaping the editor's functionality, look, and feel, while mentoring junior designers. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of product design experience, including at least 4 years as a lead, a passion for writing, and strong prototyping skills. Requirements

• Professional training and degree in UX or Product Design
• 8+ years of experience in a product design role, with at least four years as a lead designer
• Has a passion for writing
• Is a skilled prototyper
• Is skilled in designing tools for the web / desktop as well as mobile
• Is a thoughtful and passionate collaborator
• Has a strong command of the English language, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of a complex writing tool from ideation to execution, ensuring that every detail is considered and every user interaction is refined
• Demonstrate mastery in design, with an exceptional eye for detail and nuance in the UI
• Ensure that our products not only function well but also delight users
• Partner with UX research to inform design decisions. Advocate for the user at every stage of the design process
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and writers, to create cohesive and innovative design solutions
• Push the boundaries of what writing tools can be. Experiment with new ideas and approaches that enhance the writing process
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the design team

Preferred Qualifications

• Front-end development experience
• Has a deep fascination for how technology intersects with creativity and empowers people rather than supplants them
• Has fluency in either German or Dutch
