System Engineer

Summary

Join Zoox's Systems Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team as a system engineering intern to contribute to the safe deployment of our autonomous vehicle.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science (with a focus on Controls engineering)
• Strong knowledge of control theory, mechanical and electrical control systems
• Experience working with vehicle dynamics simulation tools such as Carmaker and/or Carsim
• Experience with Python

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-functional team to evaluate the autonomous vehicle’s motion control performance
• Conduct various types of system safety analyses (e.g. fault injection simulations, log data analysis)
• Develop requirements, detailed design and support HIL/on-vehicle testing activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAN logging tools (e.g. CANalyzer)
• SAE experience
