Summary
Join Cygnus Technologies, a Maravai Life Sciences company, as a Technical Business Development Manager - Europe and become a key member of the Sales Department, reporting to the VP, Business Development, and Technical Marketing division. Drive revenue development in the Europe Region by implementing technical sales & marketing initiatives, increasing awareness, and engaging customers. Attend scientific conferences and trade shows, interact with customers, and present Cygnus's analytical services. Support international distributors in the EU, provide market intelligence to internal teams, monitor competitors, and communicate customer needs. Utilize Salesforce.com to track customer interactions and opportunities. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biosciences and 5+ years of life sciences experience; an MS or PhD is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer-facing experience, a deep understanding of bioprocessing and bioanalytical sciences, and exceptional communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biosciences with at least 5 years of experience in the life sciences industry
- Strong background in customer-facing roles such as sales, business development, or technical consulting
- Deep understanding of downstream bioprocessing and bioanalytical sciences, with the ability to translate technical data into customer-centric solutions
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth in the life sciences industry, particularly in bioprocessing and bioanalytics
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver technical sales presentations across various stakeholders
- Proven experience in account management, business negotiation, and strategic development to drive growth and customer success
Responsibilities
- Be an evangelist for Cygnus Technologies, continuing to build Cygnus brand equity and drive Cygnus revenue to achieve financial targets
- Attend scientific conferences and trade shows, interact with existing and potential customers at Cygnus booths, present posters and/or technology talks
- Support Cygnus’s international distributors in the EU Region
- Provide market intelligence and VOC to internal R&D and marketing teams to drive new product development and awareness for emerging applications of existing products
- Monitor competitor actions and market dynamics and inform R&D and marketing teams
- Communicate customer needs to all internal teams
- Utilize Salesforce.com to track customer interactions and opportunities
- Perform other functions and duties as required
