Summary
Join MongoDB's TechOps PMO as a Technical Program Manager 3 and facilitate the efficient delivery of technology solutions. You will support the delivery of technology solutions in accordance with established standards and frameworks for aligned TechOps functional areas. This role, based in Toronto or remotely in Canada, requires 5-7 years of PMO or engineering experience, ideally in project/program management. You will manage complex cross-functional projects, communicate with diverse audiences, and drive program deliverables. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess advanced technical understanding, and be skilled in agile/Scrum and project management best practices. Requirements
- Have practical experience with a minimum of 5 to 7 years working in a PMO or engineering organization, ideally in project/program management delivery, support, or in an analytics role
- Be super organized and comfortable in managing multiple aspects related to projects and task tracking as well as balancing long-term strategic goals and short-term priorities
- Have strong experience managing complex cross-functional projects and programs end-to-end and leading technology delivery initiatives on Netsuite, Coupa, Concur, Avalara, or related software
- Empower resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive program deliverables through to completion with a high degree of quality
- Have excellent communication skills with diverse audiences from technical teams and business teams up to our executive leaders
- Be driven by an attuned sense of priority and urgency
- Be inspired to identify and innovate in areas where automation can replace manual work
- Have an advanced understanding of technical and engineering concepts, allowing them to drive discussions, and articulate requirements required to ensure successful delivery
- Be experienced in gathering process pain points from team members and stakeholders and devising improvements to address them
- Be experienced with successfully implementing agile/Scrum best practices as well as Project and program management best practices (e.g. PMBOK) at the department scale with positive outcomes
- Be skilled in working with project and portfolio management tools (e.g. JIRA, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project)
- Be interested in learning everything about MongoDB
- Have seasoned experience managing complex initiatives in accounting, finance, and procurement systems as well as familiarity with ERP solutions
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the yearly roadmap planning by gathering needs from business and technical stakeholders and prioritizing the requests with their help
- Design and improve the processes and tools that inform the daily life of engineers
- Help prioritize the team's backlog and plan its release roadmap
- Facilitate communication with other MongoDB engineering teams to ensure that all roadmaps are aligned
- Recognize patterns in a sea of information and take action accordingly
- Identify risks to the teamβs releases, mitigating them where possible and communicating them where not possible
- Expand knowledge into new domains as called upon
