Requirements
- Have your own voice and speak up proactively while being open to other perspectives, learning from and collaborating with multiple departments
- Be flexible and adapt to ambiguous and complex situations in order to move forward, knowing when to push and when to let go
- Have 5+ years of relevant design experience, ideally in B2B/B2C SaaS, enterprise software or within a digital product agency
- Showcase concrete examples of your end-to-end design process on a feature, product or project and the resulting impact on the user and business
- Be able to navigate design feedback and critical conversations with grace and confidence to inspire a design team to be their best selves
- Be comfortable championing user-centred design leveraging demonstrated impact, promoting best practices and exerting your influence with internal stakeholders
- Be able to work independently and handle accountability well, making decisions at a high pace based on the right balance of judgement, user research and usage data
- Be comfortable in a mentoring position where other design colleagues will look at you for guidance and advice, understanding their point of view to provide the support they need
- Be familiar with design systems and component libraries and be able to use and contribute to them
- Be fluent in both written and spoken English
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of designers in creating exceptional products for independent hoteliers
- Have ownership over your teamβs performance and operational excellence, coaching and supporting designers to drive positive outcomes
- Collaborate with product and engineering counterparts to influence the strategic direction of the vertical, while working on strategic design projects that leverage your creativity and problem-solving skills
- Collaborate with other UX Design Team Leads and the UX Design Manager to continuously improve the performance of the UX Design Team, identifying improvement opportunities and risks, and driving collaboration, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Lead complex design projects that have a strategic impact on the business, ensuring a user-centered approach and end-to-end product design process in collaboration with the User Research team and Product Management colleagues
- Contribute to the long-term product vision of the Independents vertical from a product design perspective, aligning with the business goals and user needs
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company's design system, Prism, from an interaction point of view
- Work closely with the User Research team to prioritize research initiatives and ensure the usability and effectiveness of the team's designs
- Take an active role in user research and testing, providing guidance to the team and ensuring that user feedback is incorporated into the design process
- Support UX Designers in their day-to-day activities, driving efficiency and effectiveness within the vertical
- With the help of the UX Design Manager, coach and mentor designers in the vertical, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop their skills
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UX design, and share this knowledge with the team to continuously improve the quality of our designs and processes
