Summary

Join Model N as the Vice President, Managed Business Services, leading outsourced commercial services for life sciences clients. Oversee delivery teams supporting pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers with post-sale operational services. As a key member of the Global Services Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team, you will drive the success of this business, focusing on growth, profitability, and customer impact. This high-visibility role reports to the Chief Services Officer and involves close collaboration with executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a business processing outsourcing expert with deep operational experience in a highly regulated vertical. You will define and lead the Managed Business Services strategy, develop scalable offerings, and establish high-performing delivery models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 20+ years of experience in managed services and/or business process outsourcing in a highly regulated vertical; experience in Life Sciences a plus
  • Demonstrated success in scaling service delivery organizations with a focus on recurring managed services
  • Experience achieving and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures by ensuring that all plans and activities are met with best industry practices
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive strategy and process improvement
  • Experienced in leveraging data to deliver compelling executive-level presentations that narrate and persuade both internal and customer-facing audiences
  • Strong program management skills and executive stakeholder engagement experience
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with and interest in leveraging AI to drive operational efficiencies
  • Ability to travel both domestically and overseas (20%)

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the Managed Business Services strategy aligned with life sciences customer needs and evolving regulatory demands
  • Develop and deliver scalable offerings around contract administration, chargeback validation, rebate processing, pricing analytics, GP (government pricing), Medicaid/Medicare compliance, and gross-to-net services
  • Establish high-performing delivery models to support a mix of top-20 pharma, mid-market biotech, and emerging commercial-stage life sciences clients
  • Ensure services are delivered on time, within SLA, and in full compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for strategic accounts, engaging with heads of Market Access, Commercial Operations, and Finance
  • Support long-term relationships through transparent communication, issue resolution, QBRs, and roadmap planning
  • Embed and demonstrate value in how we engage with customers by way of tangible and quantifiable metrics and reporting
  • Support active sales activity with prospective and existing clients, working in close coordination with field sales team
  • Serve as a champion for global delivery models, ensuring alignment between offshore teams and client expectations, including quality, compliance, and communication standards
  • Lead strategic offshoring and global delivery initiatives, including resourcing, enablement, transition planning, and performance oversight
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives to streamline delivery processes, reduce cycle times, and eliminate inefficiencies across our suite of services
  • Design and implement standardized workflows and playbooks across clients and geographies to ensure consistent, scalable, and compliant service execution
  • Introduce automation, workflow tools, and AI to reduce manual effort and improve operational speed
  • Establish and continuously refine KPIs, SLAs, and governance models to track performance, quality, and delivery efficiency
  • Own P&L responsibility for the Managed Business Services portfolio
  • Establish pricing models, margin targets, and resource planning aligned with business growth goals
  • Partner with Finance and Sales to forecast revenue, identify expansion opportunities, and driving margin expansion
  • Establish a culture of data-driven decision-making, using analytics to inform operational improvements and investment areas
  • Lead and scale a high-performing global team
  • Champion a culture of accountability, compliance, and high-quality service delivery
  • Build and execute on an enablement strategy to ensure our global teams are equipped to deliver customer success in both the U.S. and abroad
  • Partner with our People Team to attract, enable, and retain exceptional talent including high potential entry-level talent
