Summary

Join Altarum as their Public Health Systems Vice President and provide leadership in growing their portfolio of federal, state, and local clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years in IT, preferably in public health
  • Have experience with TEFCA, HL7, FHIR, and restful API development
  • Have experience with health information exchange protocols
  • Be able to analyze and understand interoperability policy and data and security regulations and specifications and contribute as a thought leader through industry workgroups and convenings
  • Have a deep understanding of the interoperability competitive landscape, customer priorities and challenges
  • Be able to communicate technical concepts succinctly and effectively to senior level executives at the national and state level
  • Be effective at winning new business and leading the business unit’s largest and most sophisticated proposals and pitches
  • Be able to embrace existing positive culture while improving the organization’s appetite for partnerships and cross-organization collaboration
  • Have the skill to seamlessly takeover existing relationships with key customers (existing relationships a plus)
  • Have leadership and management skills, especially in fast-paced, highly matrixed environments
  • Be able to manage time across multiple assignments and clients, including new business opportunities
  • Have expertise at creating comprehensive solutions, services, and products
  • Be organized and data driven
  • Be presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship
  • Be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your manager
  • If working remotely, have a dedicated, ergonomically appropriate workspace free from distractions with a mobile device that allows for productive and efficient conduct of business

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and foresight in continuing to grow and help evolve Altarum's portfolio of Federal, State and Local clients
  • Define and craft the next era of vision and develop actionable business strategies to transform the business
  • Broaden the business unit’s capabilities, offerings, and client base
  • Offer the most senior level thought leadership and team management, at scale
  • Think rigorously about Altarum’s business needs and new, practical, and enduring solutions
  • Build partnerships both internally and externally
  • Lead and manage in a team-oriented environment
  • Forge strong working relationships with the enterprise’s Senior Management Group, support function leadership, and the business unit leadership and team more widely
  • Work with the wider enterprise to create additional value
  • Bring a bold vision, fresh ideas and a passion for growth, opportunities, and connection
  • Understand the current public health data modernization industry and be eager to move Altarum forward as TEFCA is rolled out more broadly
  • Have a start-up mentality and a desire to develop next-gen technology solutions that support public health
  • Work together with, and guide, business unit leadership and corporate supports, including the Proposal and Opportunity Management and Growth teams, to retain and grow current clients, attract new clients, and expand capabilities and offerings
  • Leverage prior experience to oversee workflow and the overall coordination of support necessary to drive and support customer success
  • Anticipate opportunities and pitfalls and develop appropriate strategies for the best possible outcome for clients and the company
  • Be a systems thinker with the ability to solve issues and business needs in creative and lasting ways
  • Ensure all team members are well supported and well utilized
  • Possess fundamental financial aptitude
  • Serve as a mentor to others, building and developing talent to drive the future success of the organization, specifically in developing high quality products and services
  • Understand current and future needs, skillsets, and capabilities of the company, and work with executive and business unit leadership to strategically recruit, hire, and develop people

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or business administration
  • Experience in government contracting
  • Experience selling or managing sales of complex products and services, including data or SaaS, as well as successful implementation of service offerings
